Meet Derik Sven, RDH

Derik began his dental career as a laboratory technician, attaining board certification (CDT) with a specialty in Crown and Bridge. Not satisfied working behind a desk, he later embarked on a clinical career in dental hygiene. He completed his undergraduate degrees in both Dental Hygiene and Health Care Administration at Pima Medical Institute in Seattle, WA, where he served as class president and graduated with honors.

Wishing to further improve his knowledge and understanding of the field of dentistry, Derik moved to the East Coast for graduate school. He holds Master’s Degrees in Public Health and Business Administration and is currently completing his doctorate at George Washington University alongside a Juris Master’s in Health Care Law.

In addition to his academic work, Derik is an active leader in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, a member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene and the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health.

When not immersed in his studies or professional work, Derik keeps himself active training in Krav Maga, rock climbing and hiking, activities that complement his enjoyment of travel and exploration.
